Harry Mathews has lived in France since the early ’50s where, for many years, he has been the only English-writing member of the Oulipo group founded by Raymond Queneau and François LeLionnais. He is the author of four novels: The Conversations, Tlooth, The Sinking of the Odradek Stadium & Cigarettes. He has also written numerous volumes of stories, poetry, etc.
